Leakage currents are caused by malfunctions in the electrical networks, faulty infrastructure, problems experienced by the network equipment, or operating methods of the network equipment. These leaks can be determined from the vectorial difference of the current values ​​coming from the neutral and returning from the neutral. Toroidal leakage current transformer (toroidal current transformer) such as Asset RCR-1 series is used to prevent this electrical disturbance from causing life and property loss. The aim here is to measure and limit the amount of leakage, to stop the system without any damage when the limit is exceeded, and to cut off the energy. CT-1 or CTA-1 series toroidal current transformers selected according to wire or busbar thickness are connected to leakage current relay current measurement input and are used when leakage currents are measured.

Currents flowing through the phase and neutral lines as current measurement techniques are collected in vectors and the RCR series is compared to the current value set on the relay.

Generally, the CT series used during cabling or cutting the line current can be installed with toroidal leakage current traces as well as the open type CTA series Toroidal Leakage Current Transformer (toroidal current transformer), which is easier to use, without disturbing the continuity of the system. The CTA-1 series provides fast and easy installation and maintenance at the points where the system stoppage will cause great financial damage, such as factories that manufacture high number of open type trailers.
