Asset R7s Series Compensation Cassette Units The modular design allows the user to create desired combinations of stages within their own panels. The use of a thyristor instead of a contactor as a keying element provides fast and instantaneous switching. During the development, maintenance and installation of the system, especially in applications where panel access is limited, it is observed that the existing modular structure makes the work easier and allows quick intervention.

It is very disadvantageous to carry out the switching operation with the contactor which is a mechanical switching element in installations where there is an increase or decrease in current flow, because the mechanical elements are subjected to mechanical forces during switching and can cause failure in fast changing loads. The solution to this problem is to use the thyristor produced from semiconductor materials as the switching element. Harmonic filter reactor is required to prevent harmonic accumulation on the capacitors.

 

In the R7s series compensation cassettes, there is a capacitor, a harmonic filter reactor and a thyristor module as a switching element. The use of Asset VCB series capacitors, which can operate continuously with Vn x 1,18 overvoltage and In x 1,50 overcurrent, provides a unique resistance against voltage and overcurrent in the system and ensures the safety of all equipment in operation. This high strength also makes a great contribution to the working life.

R7 series compensation cassettes are manufactured and tested in accordance with the requirements of the international IEC standard including capacitor, harmonic filter reactor and thyristor module.
